The Winter/Spring CSA is now open for Sign Ups!

We are excited to announce the details of our Winter/Spring CSA at Ridgewood Commons, formerly operated as Woodbine at 585 Woodward Ave in Ridgewood, Queens. 

Sign up for 13 bulk pick ups of organic vegetables of the highest quality, including approximately 10 to 12 produce varieties each pick-up, depending on the season. With the purchase of the vegetable share, you also have the following optional add-ons: 

  • Eggs

  • Variety Meat: a rotation of ground beef, stew meat, ground chicken, chicken thighs and chicken wings

  • Whole chickens

  • Apples

  • Cheese

  • Coffee 

The CSA will run every other week, starting on 11/22. We continue our partnership with Norwich Meadows Farm, a certified organic farm run by farmers Zaid and Haifa Kurdieh out of Norwich, New York. See examples of different weekly offerings in both Winter and Spring on the Winter/Spring Vegetable Share product page on the online store.

The Winter/Spring CSA will include 13 weeks of pick-ups in total, on Saturdays from 10am-1pm from Mid November to Mid May. The pick up dates are as follows:

PRICING

Payment for the Winter/Spring CSA and add ons will go through Ridgewood Farmshare’s online store.. Vegetable shares cost $775 for the 13 weeks. Please note, there is a 3% processing fee included in the price of the share and the add ons. You will notice there is an additional pricing tier for the Vegetable CSA for $800 - this includes an additional $25 of support that goes directly to the operations of Ridgewood Commons and programming like the twice weekly food pantry, film screenings, the gym, yoga, kid’s tutoring, writer’s group, Sunday dinners, art workshops, maker’s space, NOTAFLOF events and workshops and so much more. If you are able, please consider the $800 pricing tier.

SPLIT CSA

A great way for members of all income levels to alleviate costs is to split a CSA share with a friend or neighbor. We have been offering split shares for a few seasons and it has worked out nicely!. We’ve created a spreadsheet for anyone who is interested in splitting a CSA with someone else. Once paired up, it will be up to you and your partner to figure out how you want to purchase and split it up throughout the season. PAYMENT PLANS

We are also able to offer a limited number of payment plans for members. Payment plans are only for vegetable CSA’s - all add on’s must be paid in full at time of purchase. Payment plans can be made in two installments: 

  1. Half the share price up front with a discount code in the online store

  2. The second half paid via invoice no later than December 1st, 2025.

NOW ACCEPTING SNAP!

We are very excited to announce Norwich Meadows now has the ability to accept SNAP as payment for CSA’s. SNAP is only for vegetable CSA’s - all add on’s must be paid in full at time of purchase. All eligible members will pay in person at pick up on a monthly schedule. If you are currently receiving SNAP and are interested in signing up using your benefits, email us at ridgewoodfarmshare@gmail.com and we can work this out with you directly.

DISCOUNTED SHARES

Our farm provider, Norwich Meadows offers 10  shares at a 50% discount for lower income folks. If you qualify as lower income and/or have previously received assistance in past seasons, email us at ridgewoodfarmshare@gmail.com and we can work this out with you directly. To be as equitable as possible, these 10 discounted shares will be selected randomly from the pool of those who apply in an honor system fashion. With that in mind, please closely consider your financial need and food insecurity when reaching out. If you currently receive SNAP benefits, please consider our SNAP payment option to leave more opportunity for folks who do not receive benefits. Our previous Summer provider Rock Steady provides a guideline for their sliding scale that can be used as a resource for this decision. Please reach out by November 4th to be eligible for the lottery.
